In a sea full of fish, we're a catch.

Our founder, Luke Knowles, is the third generation in a newspaper publishing family. In 1996, he accepted a position with the nation’s fourth-largest newspaper publisher. While at that company, he attended a publisher’s summit where he attended several lectures given by media buyers from around the world. There was one speaker in particular who delivered very profound insight into the problems with newspapers in general. She said, “The reason why our company has a strong dislike of newspapers is that the sales reps have the worst possible creative suggestions, if any at all. Other media like television and direct mail firms bring us ideas.”

 

Six months later, Luke resigned and moved to Carroll, Iowa where he was able to purchase his own newspaper. But in this operation, he intended to do things differently. If the customer needed something, anything, he and his staff would do it. “You’d like us to send our ad to other newspapers? Sure.” “Oh, you’d like a radio script to mirror your print ad? We can do that!” “Newspaper isn’t the method you want to use to market this promotion? Well, how about direct mail?”

 

Before long, the newspaper became an advertising agency. In 2006, that newspaper was closed down to favor Beyond Imagination Marketing Strategies’ customers’ needs.
